Neurotechnology · Software · Hardware
We build neurotechnology that listens to the brain.
Durham Systems Management designs and engineers software, hardware, and data platforms built on EEG and biofeedback signals from meditation apps to clinical devices and the infrastructure behind them.
What we do
Full-stack neurotechnology development hardware, software, and the data platforms between them.
From first prototype to shipped product, we handle the software and the signal so your team can focus on the experience.
App & Device Software
Native and cross-platform apps for meditation and wellness, clinical and therapeutic devices, or any product built around EEG and biofeedback signal.
EEG & Biofeedback Integration
Direct integration with EEG headsets and biofeedback sensors (Muse, OpenBCI, custom hardware), turning raw signal into real-time, actionable feedback.
Custom Software Development
Backend, cloud, and data infrastructure to support your product — secure signal pipelines, SDKs, APIs, and analytics built to scale with your users.
We also do hardware. When off-the-shelf EEG and biofeedback devices aren't enough, we design and build custom hardware to match — from sensor rigs to purpose-built headsets.
Our work
Products we've helped bring to life.
A selection of the software, hardware, and data platforms we've designed and built around EEG and biofeedback signals.
How we work
A process built for hardware-connected software.
Discover
We map your product goals, target hardware, and the neural or physiological signals that matter to the experience.
Design
UX built around clarity and low cognitive load — interfaces that stay out of the way of the signal underneath.
Build
Native/cross-platform app development alongside the signal-processing and data layer it depends on.
Integrate
Wire up EEG headsets and biofeedback sensors — from consumer devices to custom hardware — with real-time streaming and calibration.
Launch & Support
Ship to app stores or your own infrastructure, then iterate with us as your hardware and user base evolve.
Why DSM
Neurotechnology is only as good as the signal behind it.
Durham Systems Management exists at the intersection of software engineering and applied neuroscience. Most products in this space guess at what's happening in the body — we build systems that actually know, by reading EEG and biofeedback signal directly and responding to it in real time.
That means every product we build is shaped by two disciplines at once: rigorous software engineering, and a genuine understanding of the hardware and physiology behind the signal.
Who's behind it

Stephen Clark
Founder & Managing Director
Stephen brings over 40 years of IT experience to DSM, which he founded after spotting a clear gap in the market for affordable biofeedback technology. He built the company around a simple mission: make that technology accessible to a wider audience, without the clinical-grade price tag.

David Clark
Head of Software Engineering
David heads up engineering at DSM, working across web, mobile, and the backend systems tying it all together. He's shipped Mind Mirror across every platform it runs on, and got Ultra BLS's hardware talking to a browser in real time.
